More than 76,000 illegals crossed our southern border in February. The volume of migrants illegally entering our country has stretched border patrol agents and facilities to their limit. This onslaught already poses serious security threats to our country but that is only part of the story. We are headed toward an unavoidable humanitarian crisis without a major restructuring of the southern border and how we handle the increase in illegals entering our country. I am continually amazed at the willingness of the left to attack President Trump and accuse him of over inflating the southern border crisis while acknowledging the crisis exists and blaming him for creating it. A recent New York Times article points to President Trump’s hard-line stance on border security as the cause of the crisis. The security of this border has long been an issue. It is not some fabrication of our current administration. Many of today’s harshest critics of border security spending have in the recent past acknowledged it as a problem that poses serious threats to our security and supported spending multiple times more then what President Trump has requested. It’s become obvious that the left’s agenda is simply to resist our current administration no matter what the risk to our country, our economy or our security. Their insistance that President Trump is to blame is assisted by so many left leaning news outlets that either deny there is any problem with our border with Mexico or, if they choose to acknowledge it, spin the border problem as something the President created. It all seems quite a manipulated perspective on the news.
